The first two Christmas celebrations were the weekend before Christmas in Southern Indiana to visit Melissa's family. We had Christmas with the Brown's on Saturday, and then we spent Sunday with the Faulkenberg's. Carter got some really cute toys while we were down there.
We celebrated Christmas Eve at Jason's grandparents' house (Nana & Pap). We had a nice dinner together and went to church afterwards. When we got back from church, it was time to open gifts. Carter got a cute book that sings and some really cute outfits.
Off to Jason's parents' (Grammy Joy-Joy and Grandy) house on Christmas morning! We all enjoyed a nice brunch together along with Josh and Kristen. Geneva was there too. After breakfast, you guessed it, we opened more gifts! Carter got a cool wagon from Grammy and Grandy! There were presents stacked inside the wagon too. Grammy sat Carter inside and took pictures. He looked so cute. Kristen and Josh got him a really nice dress shirt and sweater vest from Janie and Jack! And Geneva got Carter a Crawl Ball that moves around on its own to encourage crawling with lots of giggles.
After Grammy and Grandy's, we headed over to Melissa's mom and dad's (Gramma and Grampa) house. Ashley and Derek were there to celebrate with us. We opened more presents there before having a really nice dinner that Gramma and Grampa made. Carter got a little red Anywhere Chair (Pottery Barn) from Ashley and Derek. It is adorable! And he LOVES sitting in it! Ashley had a co-worker draw a caricature of Carter in his sailor suit in a boat out on the water. It is very well done. Gramma and Grampa got Carter a car that rocks and rolls. He loves the noises that it makes. They also got him some luggage with his name embroidered on it.
Our final Christmas celebration was spent in Belleville at Jason's mom's side of the family. We got together on Friday evening for dinner and dessert and had a gift exchange at the end. Carter got some really cute bath toys. He LOVES his bath time, so he will have fun with these.
All in all, we had a GREAT first Christmas together as a family. Granted, it was more fun for us and the family than it was for Carter Jay. But next year, he will have a blast!
